Full Job Description

The Functional Bowel Service is expanding and developing its provision across the University Hospitals Tees sites. This is an exciting time to be involved in the development of a quality, patient-focused service to meet the needs of the local population through innovative nursing practice. The Nurse Specialist with work within a supportive forward thinking Multi-Disciplinary Team who are passionate about improving patient care and access to the service., Autonomously delivering clinics, taking patient history, examination, requesting appropriate investigations and initiating treatments.

Providing teaching and support to patients requiring trans-anal irrigation, sacral nerve stimulation, ACE management and visual biofeedback.

Preparing and attending the Pelvic Floor MDT's.

Supporting Consultants in Specialist Pelvic Floor Clinic.

Triaging of referrals to ensure patients are seen appropriately and in a timely manner.

Contribute to service development.

Involvement in clinical research trials within the service as they arise.

Providing training and support to new staff, students and other healthcare professionals.

Leadership and Improvement TrainingSouth Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff. This training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the following training sessions:

o Your Leadership Impacto Leading your Team to Successo Leading Into the Futureo Service Improvement for Beginnerso Developing your Service Improvement Skillso Lean Practitioner

The leadership and improvement programme aims to:

o Explore leadership within the NHSo Promote Trust values and behaviourso Develop your leadership effectiveness and skillso Equip staff with the necessary knowledge and skills to lead and complete service improvements within the scope of your role.

After you complete these six and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities. We also offer a range of additional in-house and externally provided courses and bitesize programmes through our Leadership and Improvement Team.
