Introduction
HTS has an exciting opportunity for a bright, keen, energetic and enthusiastic person to join our Front of House team to join our central London office. Reporting to our Studio Coordinator and working alongside the Practice Manager, you will be the face and voice of HTS, so a positive, outgoing personality is key to this role.

Heyne Tillett Steel is an award-winning structural and civil engineering practice with a reputation for intelligent design and innovative, practical and sustainable solutions. Based in central London and established in 2007 by directors Andy Heyne, Mark Tillett and Tom Steel, the practice now has over 180 people. We are currently working on exciting and innovative projects throughout the UK for many leading developers and architects.
What You'll Do
Front desk duties:
- Welcome guests
- Answer the phone
- Go through the mail & admin team inboxes
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail
- Prepare refreshments for meetings
- Clear up meeting rooms after meetings
- Place all the weekly orders
- Book trains, couriers and taxis
- Prepare the office for lock up
Lunch duties:
- Help prepare lunches on Mondays and Wednesdays
- Put the chairs outs and away on Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Help serve up the meals on Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Clear out fridges on Fridays
Office duties:
Check daily stocks and place orders on:
- Cleaners' supplies
- Kitchen supplies
- Bathroom supplies
- Stationery supplies
- PPE supplies
- Run the dishwashers
- Refill fruits
- Refill coffee pots
- Refill sanitary products
- Refill hand soap and shower gel on Fridays
- Water the plants
- Check drying room and locker room in the mornings
- General tidying up the office when needed
- Daily headcount for chefs
- Be trained as Fire warden
- Help out with the fire alarm test on Fridays
- Help out with events when necessary
- Help out with facility maintenance when necessary
Training Outcome
Gaining the experience of working with a busy practice will give any apprentice the practical tools they need in their future career and the confidence to work for and alongside engineers and technicians at all levels.
