Full Job Description
Are you a newly qualified Pharmacy Technician or an existing Pharmacy Technician looking for a new challenge? We are looking for a Foundation Pharmacy Technician to join the team at Dorset Healthcare.
As part of this role you will work in both Physical and Mental Health settings as well as supporting our community teams such as Hospital at Home. You will be fully supported in developing your skills and knowledge inline with our in-house Foundation Pharmacy Technician Training Programme.
You will have the opportunity to work in our inpatient hospital settings (Physical and Mental health) as well as working in our in-house dispensary at St Ann's. You will undertake Medicines Management visits to our inpatient wards and with training also undertake domiciliary home visits .
This role will be primarily based in the Poole ,Bournemouth and Sandbanks Areas - although you may on occasions be required to travel across Dorset.

Employment in this post requires a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check., + Work with the Senior Localities Pharmacy Technician and the Dispensary Manager St Ann's in order to participate in the provision of an efficient and comprehensive pharmaceutical service to all wards, units, clinics and departments to which the Trust provides a service.
+ To provide a quality and consistent service contributing to the safe and secure handling of medicines within the Trust
+ To participate in the provision of medicines management/ optimisation services at ward level according to protocol and procedures, contributing to effective patient care, enabling home visit trained Medicines Management Technicians to support the Virtual Ward service.
+ To provide advice to healthcare professionals with regard to prescribing and stock supplies, within the guidance of standard operating procedures and operating within own limits.
+ To assist the nurse in charge at Clozapine clinics which operate Point of Care Blood Analysis and to provide assurance to the Chief Pharmacist that procedures are being correctly adhered to in the clinic.
+ Foundation Pharmacy Technicians are expected to work with full training and support to achieve foundation pharmacy technician competencies in dispensary and medicines optimisation services as defined by relevant frameworks
+ Take part in own continuing professional development in order to consistently meet the requirements of the role, We understand that using AI can be a useful and supportive tool when completing your application. However, we have also seen an increase in the over-reliance of AI tools which is negatively impacting applications as they remove candidate's individuality, and it becomes much harder to get a sense of who you are and your authentic experience.
