Full Job Description
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic individual to serve as a Foundation Governor on our governing board. Foundation Governors play a vital role in upholding the school's ethos and values, supporting strategic direction, and ensuring the best outcomes for our pupils. You will work as art of a team and play a vital role in ensuring the Local Governing Body is connected with parents and the community. Applications from practising Catholics keen to make a positive contribution to our schools are welcome. What does the role involve?
- Attending governing body meetings (usually 3-4 per year)
- Contributing to strategic planning and decision making
- Hold the Head Teacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils
- Set the school's vision, ethos and strategic direction
- Oversee the financial performance of the school, ensuring money is well spent
- Participating in training and development opportunities
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds. Skills in areas such as finance, education, law, HR, or community engagement are particularly valuable, but not essential. Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are just as important.
