to participate in all training as directed by line manager, To provide a high quality front of house security service for North London Forensic Service premises, for inpatient, outpatient service users, staff & visitors. To also ensure that only authorized personal enter the premises. To be fully conversant with, and have an understanding of any security issues in and around the Forensic Service. Have a thorough understanding of confidentiality at all times, in relation to service users, staff and visitors. The Forensic Security Support worker has to be familiar and comply with the Trusts security management procedures. To promote and create a pro-security culture amongst staff, professionals, and the public, ensuring security is everybody's responsibility., · To monitor and process staff and visitors with reception visitor management systems within reception in both buildings.
· To follow protocols and procedures and have an awareness in liaison with contacting the emergency services, and other directorates.
· To monitor CCTV systems throughout the Forensic premises, and utilizing their own initiative in analyzing situations to report security issues.
· To ensure the the security of the Forensic key management systems within the receptions and low secure units are checked and audited. The reception key systems are checked at the beginning and at the end of the shifts.
· To ensure that all staff are booked in, on access and booked out of the units, report any discrepancies to the Security Advisor.
· To ensure that all visitors are processed and booked in and out in accordance with the security policies, ensuring that the visitor management system is fully operational, and report any faults to the I,T department.
· To be able to operate security systems and equipment located within the secure perimeter.
· Be able to check all mobile phones and hand held radios on a daily basis, and also to ensure that both sets of equipment are fully charged and operational, and are good working order.
· To assist and participate in auditing keys, and security systems within the secure perimeter.
· To participate in the recreational part of patients care and treatment, be active in patient's ground leaves, and other therapeutic activity's.
· To carry out searches on patients for contrabands when they return from leave and as requested.
· To actively be involved in the development of the Forensic Service Search Team and help support the wards with searching patients and wards, and using specialist equipment to help detect illicit substances.
· To ensure safe keeping of all visitors' property and valuables that are kept in the reception lockers.
· To enroll with the service driving assessments, if so required, in order to transport patients
· To provide security & key inductions once the security induction has been completed
· Ensure that the perimeter fence is checked on the day shifts, and the internal grounds are secure at all times, and all gates and doors are checked, in accordance with the NLFS Physical Security Policy
