Forensic or General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to join the team at the Spinney Hospital; Greater Manchester, to deliver high-quality clinical service in our 88 bedded all-male unit. The hospital offers comprehensive service for mainly forensic patients covering the care pathway from medium to low secure and rehabilitation. One of the wards has Learning Disability low secure patients. The Spinney hospital has been ranked as Outstanding by the CQC on two consecutive inspections in 2016 and 2018. It was rated Good in 2022. This post is to start immediately. You will be one of four consultants at the Spinney. The holder of this full time post will be responsible for the care of up to twenty inpatients, split between the low secure unit (currently a learning disability unit) and a medium secure ward. The successful candidate will receive specialty doctor input. You will have access to a half day of CPD on Friday afternoons. This is attended by Elysium Northwest Consultants and the specialty
doctors. The holder of this full-time post will be responsible for the care of up to twenty inpatients, split between the low secure unit and a medium secure ward. The successful candidate will receive specialty doctor input and have access to a half day of CPD on Friday afternoons. You will have opportunities for research and audit and will have opportunities to feed into a regular monthly medics' meeting. There will be on-call duties as 2nd on call in a two-tier system across the region, with opportunity for voluntary paid
extra 1st on-call shifts. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team including a consultant psychiatrist, specialty doctor, psychologists, nursing, occupational therapists, social workers, a physical health team, and a visiting GP every week.
