Forensic Consultant Psychiatrist

This role as a Forensic Consultant Psychiatrist at Aberbeeg Hospital provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced psychiatrist to lead forensic mental health services. You will be responsible for the strategic leadership, expert clinical oversight, and recovery-focused care for people within the criminal justice system. This position involves overseeing psychiatric assessments, formulations, and treatment planning, as well as providing specialist advice to various stakeholders. Additionally, you will play a key role in service development, clinical governance, and research to drive continuous improvement., As a Forensic Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for the clinical management of a defined caseload, ensuring the highest standards of psychiatric care across medium and low secure services. You will act as the Responsible Clinician under the Mental Health Act, and work closely with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and effectively implement the Care Programme Approach. Your responsibilities will also include teaching and supervision of trainee psychiatrists, as well as leading research and quality-improvement projects.
