Full Job Description
You'll be part of the Data & AI Team, playing a key role in the club's transformation into a fully data-driven organisation. The team delivers powerful insights, builds trusted data products, and operates modern data platforms that enable better decisions and success on and off the pitch. We're looking for a Senior Football Data Analyst to play a key part in this transformation. In this role, you will deliver data insights across the matchday calendar. You will work closely with coaches and performance video analysts across the men's first team, women's first team, and academy to identify trends, deliver pre- and post-match analysis, executive-level performance reporting, and structured performance reviews. The team provides data and insight across all footballing environments, and this role is the primary analytical link between coaching staff and the wider data programme.,
- Produce pre- and post-match analysis reports, including opponent profiling and performance summaries.
- Support the matchday calendar across all competitions, with analysis outputs timed to coaching workflows across the men's first team, women's first team, and academy.
- Deliver executive-level performance reporting to senior football and club leadership.
- Contribute to structured performance reviews across players, units, and opponents.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with coaching and analysis staff.
- Explore and interpret raw event data to surface insights, collaborating with coaches and video analysts to test hypotheses.
- Proactively generate insights to inform decision making in the performance space.

- Educated to degree level or above in STEM subject, or equivalent experience.
- 1-2 years of experience in football analytics or elite sport performance.
- Demonstrable ability to work with raw football event data independently - querying, aggregating, and interpreting it without relying on pre-built dashboards.
- Proficiency in SQL; comfortable writing queries to answer open-ended football questions.
- Comfortable using Python for data analysis and exploration.
- Meticulous attention to detail, particularly when working with large datasets and producing outputs for senior audiences.
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to translate data into clear, football-relevant insight.
- Confident communicating findings to both technical colleagues and non-technical football staff.
- Skilled in data visualisation and presentation with a strong understanding of football tactics and performance metrics.
- Curious and self-motivated approach to football data - someone who explores beyond the ask. Desirable (but not essential)
- Exposure to event data providers.
