Full Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Food Production Assistant to be an integral part of our dynamic catering team. In this role, you will deliver a wide range of high quality services to patients, visitors, and staff, ensuring a memorable and positive experience for all. Collaborating closely with both the catering department and ward based teams, you will play a key role in maintaining efficient and effective service delivery.   • Experience in bulk food service at ward level and adherence to food safety standards
  • Proficiency in completing and maintaining accurate meal service documentation, including temperature records and cleaning schedules
  • Skilled in wash up procedures, including mechanical dishwashing and hand washing of equipment
  • Ability to efficiently set up and clean trolleys, and maintain equipment and service areas in line with safety protocols
  • Strong understanding of onsite delivery and collection of ward level food items and associated documentation
  • Knowledge of reporting mechanical defects and coordinating repairs with the duty supervisor
  • Commitment to adhering to health and safety legislation and completing all required training and certifications

    Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, clients and staff
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to achieve performance criteria, with particular regard to hygiene
  • Positive approach to learning in role
  • Self motivated
  • Able to use own initiative
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Previous experience in a catering environment
