Full Job Description
We are seeking to appoint a permanent post for Senior Teaching Technician: Fluid and Thermodynamics, to be part of a team of two technicians, providing practical teaching and support within the Fluid and Thermodynamic technical subject areas involving a range of teaching techniques.
This role presents a fantastic opportunity to shape our multidisciplinary Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering education. The successful candidate will be working alongside the programme team(s) to design and develop curricula and pedagogies that leads to outstanding learning and practice experience particularly contributing to Aerospace Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate programmes.
At the Frenchay campus, we have both subsonic and supersonic wind tunnel facilities used for teaching and research. This role would work with teams in line with curriculum development.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a technical environment, along with the skills and enthusiasm to deliver demonstrations and provide instruction to students.
Join us to inspire future engineers, drive innovative research, and collaborate with industry leaders to shape the future of engineering education., We are seeking an experienced Wind Tunnel Technician to support aerodynamic testing programmes and oversee the day-to-day operation of our subsonic and supersonic wind tunnel facilities. In this role, you will play a key part in assessing the aerodynamic performance of aerospace and automotive designs, ensuring all testing activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and with the highest levels of accuracy and data integrity.

The successful applicant will have a Degree level qualification in the relevant subject area, with evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Candidates should be able to showcase evidence of their continuous professional growth in relevant subject areas. The appointee will be part of a team supporting delivery of Mechanical, Automotive or Aerospace degree related modules.
