Introduction
Are you passionate about the environment, flood risk management, and sustainable drainage? Do you want to contribute towards shaping the future of a growing city? Stoke-on-Trent City Council is looking for a Flood Risk Management Apprentice to help us tackle the increasing challenges of flood risk and surface water management.

What You'll Do
- Assist in delivering the Council’s duties as a Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA)
- Assist in investigating local flooding incidents and drainage issues
- Assist with responding to planning applications, land drainage consents, flooding incidents
- Assist with data collection, reporting, and analysis of key flood risk infrastructure in across the city
- Assist with the development of flood alleviation projects and studies
- Familiarise, learn, and apply relevant legislation and industry standards
- Collaborate with key stakeholders and contribute to towards managing flood risk

Working Arrangements
Working Week: Normal hours of work are based on a 37 hour week, working over 5 days normal office hours which are Monday to Friday. These hours may vary subject to any flexible working and any variation will be determined by the Council’s Flexible Working Policy
