Flood and Coastal Technical Project Officer

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Flood and Coastal team, delivering projects that help protect communities, infrastructure and the environment from flood and coastal risks. You'll work on meaningful projects with real local impact while developing your technical and project management expertise within a supportive and collaborative team. About the Role As a Flood and Coastal Technical Project Officer, you'll support the planning and delivery of flood and coastal projects across Somerset. You'll work with colleagues, contractors, partners and stakeholders to help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to agreed standards. How You'll Make a Difference

• Lead and support the delivery of flood and coastal projects from planning through to completion.
• Monitor project progress, budgets and performance to ensure successful outcomes.
• Work closely with contractors, consultants and partner organisations throughout project delivery.
• Identify and manage project risks, issues and dependencies.
• Provide technical advice and project support to colleagues and stakeholders.
• Prepare reports, project documentation and updates for a range of audiences.
  
  Experience of managing and delivering technical projects.
• Knowledge of project management principles, processes and controls.
• Understanding of budgeting, risk management and project monitoring.
• Experience of building positive relationships with a range of stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organisational, communication and prioritisation skills.
