Full Job Description
Make a real impact every day as a Support Worker at Hafod. We're looking for compassionate, person-centred and resourceful people to join our team. You'll support people who have a range of housing related support needs maintain or access housing. This is a permanent, part-time role working 22 hours per week. It's hands on rewarding work where you can genuinely make a difference to the people you support, and no two days are ever the same. We put people first, offering great training, supportive teams and opportunities to grow your career in Support. We provide Floating Support in the local community where you would visit customers in their home or temporary accommodation. We also provide Supported Housing where you would be based within one of our supported housing schemes, supporting customers in their homes. What you'll be doing
- Provide housing related support to customers, including support with maintaining or accessing housing, claiming welfare benefits, accessing specialist support, engaging with community-based services and offering general wellbeing support.
- Build positive, trusting relationships, offering person centred housing related support to enable customers to thrive.
- Support customers to advocate for themselves, encouraging them to focus of what matters to them.
- Digitally monitor and record housing related support activities and outcomes accurately, following support plans and updating outcomes reporting.
- Work as part of a team, contributing to a warm, inclusive environment and following Hafod's standards, policies and safeguarding responsibilities., We'll review all applications and if you're shortlisted, we'll get in touch to arrange an interview. We provide flexible, tailored support to meet individual needs, from managing money and maintaining tenancies to building confidence, skills and wellbeing. We work across supported housing, floating support and specialist services, supporting a wide range of people including families, young people, older people and those with additional complex needs. We create safe, supportive environments that enable people to move forward and achieve lasting outcomes. You'll be part of a collaborative, values-led team that puts people first, works closely with partners and communities, and is committed to making a real difference, while supporting you to learn, grow and build your career in support.
- A compassionate, trauma informed and can-do approach, with a genuine desire to support people.
- Good communication skills and the ability to build trust, listen and work positively with others.
- Reliability and willingness to learn, with confidence to engage with customers, colleagues and stakeholders to enable good outcomes for customers.
- Emotional resilience, problem solving skills and an ability to work in a strengths-based way, especially when supporting customers with varied and complex needs. Applicants must hold a full, valid driving licence, as this is an essential requirement of the role. Previous housing related support experience isn't essential, your compassion, reliability and desire to help others are what count. We'll teach you what you need, and you'll have the chance to complete a range of training and development activities to build your knowledge and practice toolkit.
