Please note, the successful applicant will work from an external community site located in one of our Primary Care Dental Service Departments in Bath, Yate, Southmead, Easton or Weston according to daily service needs and as a result will require a driving license and use of a car. Travel expenses can be reimbursed., Working in a busy and sometimes demanding role, within a supportive team, the applicant must be a good team player. The applicant should also have good organisational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure. As the post deals with patients, relatives and healthcare professionals on the phone and face to face, applicants must have excellent communication skills and will be expected to have a courteous and efficient telephone manner. They need to have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and an ability to learn new systems. The post-holder will play an integral role in promoting and ensuring a professional and positive working environment for patients attending a UHBW dental community department across the Bristol, Bath and Weston area. The role is responsible for the ongoing management of waiting lists, the organisation of clinics and patient appointments (onsite and domiciliary), and daily tasks associated with the daily management of an outpatient setting and reception area. The post-holder will work with a variety of colleagues to optimise communication, enact any changes and act as a key point of support and contact for patients and colleagues alike., welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and dedicated individual to provide effective and efficient clinic co-ordination support for the department. The post holder will have a range of administration experience, ideally in a healthcare environment, although other administration/PA experience will be considered.,
- Two years previous clerical/reception experience in a healthcare/public setting with cash handling experience
- Experience of handling cash and banking
- Experience of dealing with the public in person, by telephone, and via letter, Educated to GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths
- Business and Admin level 3 NVQ or equivalent experience, Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to communicate effectively and be sensitive to patient needs
- Understand the importance of patient confidentiality
- Ability to adjust to change and motivate others
- Computer literacy, keyboard skills and Microsoft packages
- Ability to work under pressure and deal with difficult situations/conversations with members of the public/patients/carers
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Ability to travel to sites to provide cover, when required
- Committed to own professional development
