Based at our Bristol office in the heart of the city and a 10-minute walk from Bristol Temple Meads train station, you will join our rapidly growing, friendly and multi-disciplined team, working on a range of diverse and interesting projects, leading the way in this exciting field. The Callen-Lenz team are passionate about what we do, and we are searching for individuals to grow with us as we expand into the aerospace industry. In the role of Flight Control Engineer, you will work with the wider team to develop Callen-Lenz flight control and simulation software. You will play an active part of software project teams to design and document software whilst consistently communicating with stakeholders and other departments to ensure software meets requirements. Responsibilities Model-based design of flight control software using Simulink or similar. Developing the design and maintenance of autopilot simulation software. Coordination and contribution to flight performance studies. Development
of flight dynamics models for company products. Collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders to define software requirements. Review of software source code and model designs. Collaboration with other engineering disciplines. Ensuring regular and consistent test and test recording to ensure correct operation of software and that requirements are met. Support the Project Manager in scoping, defining and estimating project tasks. Perform other related duties as required. Health & Safety Demonstrate in daily activities a commitment to health and safety in the workplace by always Report all hazards and incidents that the individual is party to, or observes, in the correct manner. When required or directed, participate in any health and safety training

Must be a British Citizen or have an existing right to work in the UK Ability to commit to occasional national and international travel Ability to hold Security Clearance - 5 years residence in the UK

Qualifications: BSc or MSc degree in an Engineering related subject Skills and competencies: Essential: Experience in designing and documenting control systems. Deep understanding of aeronautics and control theory. Experience of designing and documenting software. Experience using MATLAB & Simulink. Knowledge of a variety of programming languages and tools Desirable: Understanding of real time and embedded software. Knowledge of safety related engineering practices. Previous experience or interest in UAVs

CLA-388

£40k - £50k per annum depending on relevant experience
