Fleet Workshop and Vehicle Maintenance Manager

We pay an attractive salary of £42,839 - £46,142 and offer access to training and development opportunities. This is an exciting opportunity to manage Caerphilly Council's vehicle maintenance workshop. The role has overall responsibility for planning and managing the day-to-day maintenance of the Council's fleet of 550 vehicles, maintaining accurate records of all work completed including inspections, MOTs and defect rectification. You will lead the workshop team to deliver a safe, efficient and fully compliant service, supporting front-line operations and maintaining high standards of performance and health and safety. The successful candidate will play a key role in the authority's ambitious vehicle replacement strategy, the transition to electric vehicles and moving the workshop to a purpose-built new facility. For the role, we ask that you have:

• Relevant Level 3 qualification
• Sound knowledge of vehicle technology and safety standards.
• Ability to effectively communicate and give direction, guidance and leadership to others
• Extensive experience of managing HGV workshops.
