Fleet Maintenance Technician within N/C - Driving in North Lincolnshire. - Vehicle Maintenance: Carry out scheduled servicing, inspections, and repairs on council vehicles, plant machinery, and equipment.
- Fault Diagnosis: Identify, diagnose, and repair mechanical and technical faults efficiently.
- Parts Management: Order spare parts in consultation with the Fleet Workshop Manager to ensure cost-effective repairs.
- Management Support: Deputise for the Fleet Workshop Manager when required.
- Problem Resolution: Investigate recurring technical issues and contribute to finding effective solutions.
- Downtime Reduction: Minimise vehicle downtime while ensuring repairs meet required standards.
- Health and Safety: Maintain safe working practices and adhere to all workshop health and safety requirements.
- Workshop Maintenance: Ensure workshop cleanliness and dispose of waste materials in accordance with environmental policies.
- Customer Liaison: Communicate with customers and management regarding vehicle availability and repair progress.
- Documentation: Complete job cards, inspection reports, and maintenance records accurately and within required timescales.
- MOT Operations: Carry out MOT testing activities and assist with booking management.
- Quality Assurance: Road test vehicles as required to ensure repairs and maintenance have been completed effectively.
Mechanical Experience: Previous experience maintaining and repairing vehicles, plant machinery, or equipment. - Technical Skills: Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities across a range of vehicle types.
- Workshop Knowledge: Understanding of vehicle servicing, maintenance schedules, and repair procedures.
- Health & Safety Awareness: Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Organisational Skills: Ability to manage workloads effectively and complete documentation accurately.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to liaise with colleagues, management, and customers professionally.
- Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence is desirable for vehicle testing and movement.
