Full Job Description
The Fire Safety Advisors acts as a focus for all fire safety matters in the organisation with accountability for fire safety matters reporting up to the hospitals Chief Executive Officer (CEO) via the hospital's Director of Estates and Facilities. The role also has professional accountability to the Barts Health NHS Group Director of Estates & Facilities.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Fire Safety Advisor within the Estates & Facilities team at Whipps Cross Hospital in East London.
Whipps Cross Hospital is part of the Barts Health NHS Trust group of hospitals. With a turnover of £1.8 billion and a workforce of around 16,000, Barts Health is one of the largest NHS trusts in the country, and one of Britain's leading healthcare providers. The Trust's five hospitals - St Bartholomew's Hospital in the City, including the Barts Heart Centre, The Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, Newham University Hospital in Plaistow, Whipps Cross University Hospital in Leytonstone and Mile End - deliver high quality compassionate care to the 2.5 million people of East London and beyond.
It is an exciting time to join the Whipps Cross Hospital team as we are concluding an eight year £30m fire safety improvement programme at the hospital and there are plans to build a new Whipps Cross Hospital to open sometime in the next decade as part of the NHS New Hospitals Programme (NHP).
