Full Job Description

Reporting to the Finishing Manager/Finishing Supervisor your objective is to \u2018Set\u2019 and maintain all folding equipment as required and ensure machines meet the production plan whilst keeping you and your colleagues safe. This job description is intended as a guide to the type of role the Job Holder is expected to perform. As the nature of our business can vary with changes in customer requirements and operating procedures the following tasks are the key duties of the role, but it is understood that the Job holder will undertake any function in which he/she is adequately trained or competant. If in time, significant changes to the role are experienced, a new Job Description will be issued. Job Responsibilities/Key accountabilities:

  • Report on any HSE requirements and make decisions based on risk
  • Expected to \u2018set\u2019 and \u2018run\u2019 a machine as required, with the purpose of maximising shift output
  • Ability to set and run all folding machines and all formats of leaflets
  • Work to the agreed Quality levels and achieve the department quality targets
  • When required, offer practical advice (troubleshoot) on machine and other finishing related matters
  • Conduct return to work interviews and help the management of absence
  • Make sure that SFDC and VWT are used in compliance with our SOP\u2019s
  • Raise IT support tickets when we have Software or hardware issues
  • Enter maintenance tasks immediately on Cworks as they arise.
  • To load flat leaflet sheets, tagserts and other leaflet components.
  • To resolve minor running issues, including unblocking the machine, and restarting the process when it\u2019s safe to do so., It is your responsibility to co-operate with Smurfit Westrock in relation to all health, safety and environmental topics. This includes working to the practices shown during training that will be provided to you and the company's health, safety and environmental policies. You will be expected to work in accordance with local site practices and not to interfere with or misuse anything that's been provided for your health, safety or welfare
  • Other Requirements Flexible and adaptable to change and prepared to take on additional responsibilities with other duties as required to meet business needs. Successfully adapts to changing demands and conditions. Be able to be self-motivated, standards driven, with a keen eye for detail whilst being team focused and harnessing collaboration and co-operation of others.   • Minimum GCSE in Mathematics and English Language or equivalent
  • Previous experience working on and setting Machinery
  • PC literate, Previous manufacturing experience (advantageous)
  • Ability to work flexibly as part of a team
  • Communication skills
  • Previous experience of working with machines (ideally in a printing, pharmaceuticals, or food environment). However, training will be provided to the right candidates
  • Awareness of current Health & Safety practices
  • Problem solving skills
