Full Job Description

We are looking for a Financial Operations Manager to play a key role in delivering high-quality, efficient and customer-focused financial services at Lincolnshire County Council. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team at the heart of a transformation programme. You will help modernise financial systems, standardise processes, and improve outcomes for both internal and external customers. Working across Financial Services, you will support the day-to-day operation of financial processes while contributing to service redesign, digital solutions, and continuous improvement initiatives. What you'll be doing

  • Supporting the effective day-to-day operation of financial systems and transactional processes
  • Monitoring performance, identifying risks and opportunities, and driving service improvements
  • Leading or supporting process improvement and transformation initiatives
  • Supporting the rollout and embedding of new financial systems and enhancements
  • Developing and promoting customer-focused services, including self-service and digital "front door" models
  • Ensuring strong financial control, compliance, and data integrity across all processes
  • Producing insightful reports and performance data to inform decision-making
  • Working with stakeholders across the organisation to deliver joined-up financial operations, Help shape modern, digital, customer-focused financial services
  • Work in a collaborative environment across Finance, systems teams and services

You will be given a nominated contractual work base and you will be required to commute to this work base when necessary. Working arrangements regarding hybrid working will be discussed as part of the appointment process. We require that you have in place good connectivity, and we will discuss during the recruitment process if support with this is needed.   • Passionate about customer service, efficiency, and continuous improvement
  • Essential skills and experience
  • Experience improving processes and delivering operational efficiencies
  • Experience working with financial systems and supporting system change
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Excellent communication and influencing abilities
  • Experience managing priorities and delivering to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong Microsoft 365 skills and ability to work with financial data tools
  • Knowledge or experience of process improvement approaches (e.g. Lean)
