Full Job Description

Are you ready to step up and lead in a fast-paced, intelligence-led environment? We are offering a 12-month temporary role to supervise an already established Financial Intelligence team, playing a key role in maximising financial intelligence and supporting complex investigations. This is a high-impact role suited to someone who can think quickly, lead effectively, and build strong relationships across the organisation and beyond. You will need to be a fast learner, proactive, and confident in making decisions under pressure. What you'll be doing:

  • Lead and support a team of financial intelligence officers developing effective and informed responses to financial intelligence in all it's forms.
  • Make time-critical decisions on sensitive intelligence, ensuring compliance with legislation and policy.
  • Directing research and analysis activity, setting priorities and ensuring timely, accurate responses.
  • Manage incoming intelligence and enquiries, advising the force of what Financial Intelligence can offer and making sure that requests are appropriate and responded to effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners, supporting joint investigations.
  • Provide expert financial intelligence advice in complex and sensitive cases.
  • Deliver training and raise awareness to improve organisational understanding and use of financial intelligence.
  • Maintain knowledge of POCA 2002 and wider asset recovery powers, applying this in practice along side investigative opportunities and disruption methods.
  • Drive performance and development, including quality assurance, welfare and continuous improvement.
  • Developing Policies and procedures in relation to Financial Intelligence to ensure the team are working effectively and prioritising workloads appropriately.
  • We are looking for a confident leader who can supervise, motivate and develop others with a sound understanding of Proceeds of Crime and Intelligence principles (or strong willingness to develop quickly). Within your application please provide evidence of the following essential and desirable criteria

  • Previous experience of managing workloads and prioritising tasks.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal across a range of audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills, able to process large amounts of complex information in a time pressured environment.
  • Desirable:
  • Understanding of criminal and civil investigation processes and how they work together., If you're not from the UK, you must be a resident in the UK and have lived here continuously for the last three years. You must also be free from restrictions with indefinite leave to remain. If you're from the UK you must have lived here continuously for the last three years. This doesn't apply to those serving abroad in the British Armed Forces.
