The Financial Controller is responsible for leading the finance function, ensuring strong financial management, compliance with UK accounting standards, and accurate reporting. This role oversees daily financial operations, prepares financial statements, manages budgets and cash flow, and supports strategic decision-making to enhance business performance. Acting as a key partner to senior management, the Financial Controller plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of the company while providing insights for long-term growth., In addition to financial oversight, the role involves managing audits, ensuring statutory compliance, and developing internal controls to safeguard company assets. The Financial Controller also identifies financial risks, recommends cost-control strategies, and leads the finance team, offering mentorship and performance management. Continuous improvement of accounting systems and collaboration with auditors and external stakeholders are integral to maintaining operational efficiency and accuracy.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Controller to join our inhouse Finance team with Norwich City Service Limited (NCSL). If you are a qualified accountant, analytical and detail-oriented, we would love to hear from you., The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with an ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent certification. The individual has significant experience in a senior finance or accounting role, preferably within a medium-sized UK company. They possess strong technical expertise in UK accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements, ensuring financial accuracy and regulatory adherence. In addition to their technical proficiency, they demonstrate excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills, complemented by advanced IT capabilities, including expertise in accounting software and Excel. Their leadership qualities, interpersonal skills, and communication abilities make them adept at managing finance teams effectively. With a high attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, they bring a reliable and strategic approach to financial management.

- 25 days annual leave, rising by a day each year until 30 days is reached. Plus 8 bank holidays and a Christmas shut down period. This role is for 37 hours per week, but to ensure flexibility and promote an inclusive workplace part time hours or a job share agreement will be considered.
