Full Job Description
West Berkshire Council is seeking a motivated Financial Assessment Reviewing Officer to join our Adult Social Care Service, reporting to the Financial Assessment Team Manager. As a Financial Assessment Reviewing Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring a consistent and fair approach when completing financial assessment reviews, to promote affordable, sustainable support for individuals who require Adult Social care service. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality financial assessment services within a supportive and collaborative working environment., As a Financial Assessment Reviewing Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Undertaking financial assessment reviews on an annual basis for individuals receiving adult social care services, ensuring accurate determination of charges and contributions.
- Processing financial information and maintaining accurate, comprehensive records.
- Providing welfare benefit advice
- Collaborating with other teams and stakeholders to ensure effective information sharing and resolution of queries.
- Supporting the Financial Assessment Team in the delivery of the financial assessment service., This role has been identified as public facing in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016; the requirement to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English applies. This role involves regulated activity with adults at risk. As such, appointment is subject to an Enhanced DBS check with the relevant Barred List(s). In this post you will be required to maintain continuous registration with the DBS Update Service for the duration of your employment. - Experience in financial assessment within a social care environment.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and guidelines.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial information.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide advice and support to service users.
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively, while also contributing to team objectives.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data processing.
- Hold a full, clean driving licence
