Financial Accountant

To support the delivery of high-quality financial accounting and reporting services for the Authority, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, accounting standards, and internal financial regulations. • AAT level or working towards a recognised professional qualification.
• Experience Experience working in a financial accounting role, preferably within local government or the wider public sector.
• Experience contributing to year end closedown and preparation of financial statements.
• Experience of working with financial systems and reconciliations.
• Knowledge of local authority accounting requirements and the CIPFA Code of Practice, or the ability to develop this knowledge quickly.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
• High standards of integrity and professionalism Resilient and able to work under pressure during peak reporting periods.
• Committed to public service values and good financial governance. Proactive, reliable, and willing to learn and develop.
