Full Job Description
We're looking for a Financial Accountant to join our Finance team here at Calisen. Reporting into the Senior Financial Controller, this role plays a key part in delivering high quality financial accounting, controls and reporting across the business. You'll be involved in month-end reporting, budgeting and forecasting, statutory and tax reporting and will work closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation. - Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts and Group reporting packs, including P&L, balance sheet, cashflow and KPIs
- Providing clear, value-added financial analysis to support performance and decision-making
- Completing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring robust controls and timely resolution of issues
- Supporting the annual budget and re-forecasting processes, including financial modelling, analysis and commentary
- Assisting with internal and external reporting to investors, shareholders and other key stakeholders, including technical accounting requirements
- Supporting VAT returns, tax packs and statutory reporting, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations
- Playing an active role in year-end statutory audit activity and responding to ad-hoc audit and tax queries
- Working with Finance Business Partners to support operational finance needs and cashflow management
- Contributing to continuous improvement of finance systems, processes and controls
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) - Experience in a similar financial accounting role
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards and statutory reporting
- Good understanding of taxation, including VAT and corporation tax
- Experience producing budgets, forecasts and management accounts
- Confident working with senior stakeholders and presenting financial information
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics / Business Central is desirable
- Organised, proactive and able to manage deadlines in a fast-moving environment
