Finance Trustee

TortureID is a small medical human rights charity based in West Yorkshire. We are seeking to recruit new Board members who are finance professionals, and we are also seeking a new Treasurer. Most of our Trustees are from the asylum and human rights field with backgrounds in health, law, research and fundraising. We would like to diversify and strengthen our Board, and are open to applications from people with all types of skills and experience who support TID's mission. We particularly welcome survivors of torture and/or human rights abuses and those with lived experience of seeking asylum in the UK.

Our Board meets every two months, online, on Tuesday evenings at 7pm for 1.5-2 hours. We have an annual away day every winter in Yorkshire, alongside our sessional staff and employees, as well as our volunteers. We can pay travel, childcare and other expenses as required. We operate several Board subgroups, and currently have the following: Survivor Involvement, Strategy, Fundraising and a Comms subgroup. There will be a Finance subgroup once we have recruited a new Treasurer. We estimate the average monthly time commitment for Trustees to be around 10 hours, more if you are involved in several subgroups.
