Full Job Description

Flint House is a charity, founded in 1890, and dedicated to providing rehabilitation and mental health services to police officers, supporting both their physical and mental well-being. The charity is mainly funded by voluntary donations from serving and retired police officers. We are now looking to strengthen and diversify our income streams whilst ensuring the long-term financial sustainability of the charity., We are seeking to recruit a voluntary trustee with significant financial expertise to join the Board and, in particular, to contribute to the work of our Finance & Audit Committee.

We are particularly interested in someone who can bring strong financial oversight and strategic thinking to the Board, alongside an understanding of financial planning, risk, investment and organisational sustainability.

The Finance & Audit Committee plays an important role in supporting the Board's oversight of Flint House's financial affairs. Its responsibilities include reviewing the annual plan and operational budget, monitoring management accounts and forecasts, considering business cases and major projects, overseeing investments and contributing to the charity's governance, risk management and internal control arrangements.

The trustee role is voluntary and would require attendance at quarterly Board Meetings, together with participation in the monthly Finance & Audit Committee. The successful candidate would play an important role in providing financial challenge and assurance, supporting sound governance and helping shape the future strategic direction of Flint House.
