Full Job Description
The role sits within the Finance, Planning and Data Insight section, which manages the University's financial performance, ensures value for money, and supports compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. The team works closely with Finance colleagues (including Income, Payments and Accounting), Digital/IT services, and external partners to ensure systems are effective, secure and responsive to business needs. Duties of the Role The Finance Systems Manager leads the development, optimisation and support of the University's financial systems, ensuring they are robust, secure and aligned to organisational priorities. The role provides strategic and technical leadership for the University's core finance system (Unit4), delivering system improvements, supporting major transformation programmes, and ensuring high-quality financial data, reporting and controls across the institution. The successful candidate should be a qualified CCAB accountant (or equivalent significant experience in financial systems). You will possess experience of financial systems (Unit 4 (Agresso) or similar) and system accounting, coupled with strong technical skills including SQL and advanced Excel.
