Summary

This is a unique opportunity to lead one of the most significant finance transformation programmes across Dorset's NHS organisations. As Finance System Implementation Lead, you will be responsible for procuring, designing and implementing a modern finance system that will transform how financial services are delivered across Dorset HealthCare and Dorset County Hospital.

Working at the heart of a major strategic programme, you will bring together finance, digital, procurement, operational and clinical colleagues to deliver a new enterprise-wide solution that improves automation, reporting, governance and decision-making. This is far more than a systems implementation. It is an opportunity to shape future ways of working, influence organisational strategy and leave a lasting legacy that will support services for years to come.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic leader with a passion for transformation, exceptional stakeholder management skills and a track record of delivering complex programmes. You will be able to navigate ambiguity, build strong relationships, inspire confidence and translate technical solutions into meaningful business improvements.

If you are motivated by challenge, thrive in fast-paced environments and want to make a real difference within the NHS, we would love to hear from you.

Candidate Requirements

  • Significant experience leading large-scale finance system implementations, ERP deployments or major digital transformation programmes.
  • Strong programme and project management skills with the ability to deliver complex projects to time, cost and quality requirements.
  • Experience developing business cases, leading procurement exercises and managing supplier relationships.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and gain commitment from senior leaders, clinicians and operational teams.
  • A deep understanding of financial management, governance, information governance and data quality requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate options, manage risk and solve complex problems.
  • Experience managing significant budgets and delivering value for money.
  • The ability to lead organisational change, drive adoption of new systems and support cultural transformation.
  • A collaborative leadership style, with the resilience, adaptability and credibility to work across organisational boundaries.
  • The ability to communicate complex financial and technical information in a clear and accessible way to a broad range of audiences.
