Full Job Description
We're looking for a finance professional to join our Board of Trustees as Treasurer. This is a rewarding voluntary role where your strategic insight and financial acumen will help shape the future of our charity and strengthen our impact in the community. You'll work alongside our Chief Officer, Management Accountant, and fellow Trustees to provide sound financial governance and ensure our resources are used effectively to support local people.,
- Help set appropriate budgets and ensure our financial strategy is fit for purpose.
- Review management reports.
- Present financial updates at our AGM.
- Help ensuring financial policies and controls meet best practice standards.
- Understand financial risks and opportunities to support confident decision-making.
You'll bring a recognised accounting qualification and/or senior finance management experience. Most importantly, you'll share our commitment to social justice and want to use your professional skills to make a positive difference locally. You'll be based in or near Southampton, Hampshire, and able to attend around 6-8 Board and Finance Committee meetings a year. Please note: This is a voluntary role, and we are unable to sponsor applicants from abroad. You must have the right to work in the UK.

We work closely with local partners to make sure everyone in our community can access the right help at the right time. In 2024/25 we supported 8,316 clients, supported people with 32,736 different problems, and helped them gain an additional £6,324,175.
