Full Job Description

I'm currently working with a well-regarded London local authority who are looking to appoint an Income Finance Officer on an initial contract basis. This role would suit someone with experience in: ️ Rent arrears recovery ️ Income collection / credit control ️ Housing income management ️ Tenancy sustainment ️ Local authority or housing association environments Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing rent and accommodation charge arrears
  • Supporting residents with payment arrangements and benefit claims
  • Reducing arrears whilst maintaining a customer-focused approach
  • Legal escalation, notices and court-related processes
  • Liaising with legal teams, support agencies and housing colleagues
  • Monitoring customer accounts and maintaining accurate records

    Experience within social housing, local authority or housing associations
    • Strong customer communication skills Experience handling sensitive or vulnerable cases Ability to balance collections with tenancy support Knowledge of arrears recovery and income management processes
