Finance Officer

Sunderland City Council are seeking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Finance Officer within the Financial Management Service, reporting to the Principal Accountant within the service.

The purpose of the Finance Officer role is to support the provision of a financial management service covering a range of accounting requirements through provision of financial analysis and information.

To enable the key responsibilities of this role to be completed good analytical skills and the ability to understand and use numerical information will be necessary. This role entails the provision of financial advice, supporting with budget preparation and monitoring plus supporting in the closedown of revenue and capital budgets, through to the production of final accounts.

To enable the completion of tasks that this role entails it will be necessary to have the ability to effectively use a PC to prepare documents, record information and input data.

Good communicate skills are key to this role. The ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and to work to deadlines is also essential for this role.

AAT qualified or part qualified is desirable, equally a Finance Officer who would like to attain this qualification and/or progress further in their financial professional qualifications.
