Thank you for your interest in joining Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council and our Finance Service.

Redcar & Cleveland, as a borough, has a bit of everything, at the one end being the welcome to North Yorkshire and the moors, at the other being at the economic centre of Tees Valley, with beautiful coastline sandwiched in between.

What makes the area what it is though, is the 136,500 people who live here and make it their home. It is the council's job, alongside partners to provide vital public services which make a difference to these people.

The Finance Manager - Accountancy (Children & Families) role is a senior leadership position within the service, offering the opportunity to influence decision-making at the highest levels and shape the future of critical services for children and young people. Acting as a strategic business partner, you will play a key role in high-profile transformation programmes, helping to drive sustainable change supporting financial planning, including the Medium-Term Financial Plan, and ensuring strong governance and value for money across complex and challenging service areas.

We are particularly keen to attract experienced finance professionals from the public sector (local government, education, health or similar), who can bring strategic insight and quickly establish credibility within a complex environment. Experience supporting Children & Families services within local government would be highly advantageous.

At Redcar & Cleveland, we are proud of our supportive and flexible working environment. We are committed to developing our people, promoting wellbeing, and creating opportunities for professional growth. You will be joining a team that values innovation, embraces change, and works together to overcome financial challenges in a constructive and proactive way.
