  • Further details about the role This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in finance while gaining a nationally recognised qualification. The successful candidate will join the Central Finance Team and receive full training and support while developing practical skills in financial administration, accounting processes and the use of finance systems. The role offers exposure to a broad range of finance activities, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, reconciliations, financial record keeping, audit support and customer service. Working alongside experienced colleagues, the Finance Apprentice will gain valuable workplace experience and develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for a successful career in finance. The successful candidate will be expected to attend all apprenticeship training sessions, complete coursework and assessments, and apply learning in the workplace to support their professional development.

  • GCSE Maths Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
  • GCSE English Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
  • Willingness to undertake and successfully complete the Level 3 AAT Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship qualification.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Good ICT skills and confidence using digital systems.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to follow instructions, procedures and policies.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Professional approach when dealing with colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering excellent service.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Excellent attendance, punctuality and reliability.
  • Previous experience in an administrative, customer service or office environment (desirable).
  • Basic understanding of finance or accounting processes (desirable).
  • Interest in finance, accounting or business administration (desirable).
