Finance Analyst - Capital, Band 4

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to work in an ambitious team to help deliver an exciting and challenging £60m Capital Programme for the Trust. This post will work as part of the project accounts team to provide financial support to key Trust capital projects including monthly reporting and forecasting of expenditure, annual financial reporting and input into long-term capital planning. You will need to build relationships with finance and non-finance staff to achieve the requirements of the role and support fellow team members to support delivery of the capital plan of the organisation. If you are a motivated, conscientious and positive individual with experience of working in a finance department then you could well be suited for this role within a very welcoming and supportive finance team and we would be delighted to receive your application., The primary purpose of this role is to provide finance support to the Trust's Capital Accountant in respect of asset management and capital project expenditure. This will include supporting financial and non-financial reporting and the financial impact of major capital projects within the monthly reporting and forecasting, annual financial reporting and long-term planning processes. We are looking for a motivated, conscientious and positive individual, with a strong educational background and finance experience (hopefully some capital experience), who is organised, professional and shares a desire to learn and improve both as part of a team and as an individual., Compile schedule of asset data for input into the fixed asset register on a quarterly basis. Correctly record the procurement of assets on the ledger, in the balance sheet and in the asset register. Account for the disposal of assets correctly, ensuring they are removed from the asset register. Run reports from the fixed asset register to provide information as required. Prepare budget, expenditure and forecast journals to input financial information into the ledger to agreed timetables. Assist with the annual asset verification exercise. Provide timely support and advice to financial and non-financial staff on capital assets and capital project accounting as required. Assist in responding to internal and external audit requirements and ensuring they are responded to in a timely manner The role requires the post holder to plan, organise and manage their time effectively, establishing own priorities on a day-to-day basis to meet deadlines with management supervision. Effectively monitor progress on their own tasks and raise an alert if there are any issues.

• 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (Grade 4 / Grade C and above), Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualified
• Studying or desire to study for a CCAB qualification, Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and basic formulas
• Ability to analyse, interpret and report large complex data
• High level of numeracy and accuracy skills, Knowledge of capital accounting and relevant accounting standards
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Finance accounting software system experience
• Practical application of basic accounting concepts and techniques
• Experience of prioritising demands and working to tight deadlines, Appropriate finance experience within the NHS or a large finance department
• Experience of working with a Fixed asset register, Demonstrates a commitment and recognition of the core values of the NHS and of the Trust's values
