Full Job Description
Lancaster University is seeking a motivated and proactive Senior Finance Analyst to join our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. This role will support Professional Services and other non-faculty areas providing high-quality financial insight to support effective planning, budgeting and decision-making.
Working closely with the Finance Partner and colleagues across the Finance Division, you will support budget holders and senior colleagues by delivering accurate reporting, analysis and financial advice., o Produce timely and accurate management reports and financial analysis
o Assist budget holders in monitoring financial performance and understanding variances
o Support the preparation of annual budgets and in-year forecasts
o Contribute to business planning and financial modelling activities
o Support financial processes and reporting improvements
o Build effective working relationships with finance and non-finance colleagues
o Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures and deadlines
We are looking for a collaborative and analytical finance professional who can turn financial data into clear insight.
You will bring:
o Experience in a finance, management accounting or financial analysis role
o Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
o Confidence explaining financial information to non-finance stakeholders
o Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines
o Strong Excel skills and experience using financial systems and reporting tools
o A proactive, service-focused approach and commitment to continuous improvement
You will be:
o AAT qualified or able to demonstrate equivalent relevant experience
o Actively studying towards (or willing to study towards) a recognised professional accountancy qualification (CIMA or CCAB)
