Full Job Description

As a tutor, you will deliver engaging science and geography field trips alongside a wide range of outdoor education experiences for school groups, colleges, universities, families, and adult learners. Your role will include planning and delivering sessions, adapting activities to suit different learners, and making sure everything you do is safe and inclusive. You will also contribute to the development of new activities and work closely with a supportive education team to improve and grow what we offer. When you are not delivering in the field, you will support the wider running of a busy education centre. This is an active role, and some weeks can be busy and demanding, but it is also highly rewarding work. Follow this link to meet our Senior Tutor, Pippa. Let her show you what it is like to work at the Field Studies Council and why she loves where she works!

  • You'll have a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject and some experience of teaching or tutoring.
  • You'll be confident planning sessions, preparing learning resources, and engaging a wide range of learners.
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum, Geography and Biology specifications would be advantageous.
  • Our values are at the heart of everything we do, and we are looking for someone who shares them. Let's learn and grow, inspire action for the environment, work as a team, and deliver great service.

Join the Field Studies Council and help deliver outdoor learning experiences that stay with people for life.
