As a Field Interviewer, you'll embark on a journey to selected addresses in your assigned area, conducting in-home research interviews on vital topics such as health, housing, transport, public services, and everyday life.You're not selling anything. You're listening.The insights you gather will empower governments, universities, charities, and public bodies to better understand people's lives and make informed decisions that can enhance services and society.Talk to People. Whether you're in a bustling city, a quaint town, or a serene rural community, your role is to facilitate open and honest conversations.Some participants may be eager to share, while others might need a little encouragement. Your warmth, professionalism, and listening skills will be key in making a difference.You'll utilize a NatCen device to guide structured interviews and accurately record responses. This role is purposeful, independent, and people-focused, and you'll receive comprehensive training before heading out on your own.Field-Based Work. Real Support. Clear Expectations.This is a travel-based role where you'll be assigned a defined fieldwork area, complete with route planning support to help you manage your time effectively.Travel times will vary, typically ranging from 30 to 60 minutes each way. You should be comfortable traveling throughout your assigned area, as some projects may require longer journeys and occasional overnight stays. Most projects offer paid travel time and mileage reimbursement.You won't be navigating this journey alone.
