Summary
About me I am an 11-year-old girl living in South Ockendon (RM15). I have a learning disability and complex physical needs, use a wheelchair and rely mainly on my PEG for nutrition and hydration.
I am a happy, cheerful young girl who enjoys sensory activities, positive relationships, consistency, familiarity and kindness. I need support with daily living, including personal care, moving and handling, PEG feeding, medication, and accessing my local community. I am supported at home, where specialist equipment and adaptations are provided.
Hours and rate of pay
Approximately 20 hours per week, with possible additional hours.
- Morning shifts: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 9:00am, essential for school transport.
- Afternoon shifts: 3:30pm to 6:00pm, flexible and to be discussed.
Rate of Pay: £14.70 per hour weekdays and £15.70 per hour weekends. A higher rate may be available for applicants who are fully PEG trained and successfully complete probation.
Location
South Ockendon, RM15.
DBS/Checks
An enhanced DBS check, two satisfactory references and confirmation of your legal right to live and work in the UK will be required before employment can commence.
What you would be doing…
Your role will involve supporting me at home and occasionally in the community. Duties include:
- Personal care with dignity, respect and compassion.
- Morning and evening routines, including school transport preparation.
- PEG feeding, medication and moving and handling after training and competency sign-off.
- Safe use of specialist equipment, including a ceiling hoist.
- Community activities and planned outings.
- Encouraging my independence, participation and engagement.
- Keeping accurate care records and working with my parents and wider support team to provide consistent, person-centred care.
