Full Job Description
A reliable, organised, and compassionate Personal Assistant is required to support a mature autistic woman with ADHD. The individual is highly intelligent and independent but experiences challenges with day-to-day organisation, prioritisation, managing tasks, and periods of poor mental health.
This role is focused on providing practical support, encouragement, and structure to help maintain independence and improve daily wellbeing. The successful candidate will work collaboratively, supporting rather than taking over tasks, and helping to reduce feelings of overwhelm.

Roles and Responsibilities
Provide support with day-to-day organisation and life administration.
Assist with creating and maintaining to-do lists, schedules, and action plans.
Support with prioritising tasks and managing responsibilities.
Work alongside the employer to organise and tidy areas of the home.
Assist with meal planning, shopping lists, and other practical household organisation.
Accompany and support the employer at occasional health-related appointments when required.
Maintain accurate and effective communication regarding appointments, schedules, and ongoing support needs.
Work collaboratively to encourage focus, motivation, and task completion.
Respect and maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
Fulfil duty of care responsibilities and communicate with relevant professionals where appropriate and necessary.
Provide advance notice of any absence due to sickness, holidays, or other commitments.
Offer occasional assistance relating to a friendly family dog if required.
Experience supporting autistic adults.
Understanding of ADHD and the challenges associated with executive functioning and organisation.
Awareness of mental health difficulties and confidence supporting someone during periods of crisis or increased vulnerability.
Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
A practical, solution-focused approach to problem solving.
Good life experience, maturity, patience, and empathy.
A positive attitude, good sense of humour, and strong common sense.
The ability to be assertive, encouraging, and supportive while helping someone remain focused and on task.
A commitment to working alongside the individual rather than doing tasks for them.
Essential Requirements
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
First Aid qualification.
Autism awareness training completed, or willingness to undertake training such as the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism.
Reliable, trustworthy, and professional approach to work.
Hourly Rate: £13.28
Hours Per Week: 6 hours per week
How will the hours be used: TBC- flexible
The role involves working in a home environment where a friendly Labrador dog is present.
Non-smokers are preferred. Smoking is not permitted during working hours.
