- Personal Assistant / Support Worker in Burgess Hill (Ad Hoc hours mainly in School Holidays), Flexible, with ad hoc support during term time including some weekend work. During school holidays, we anticipate around 10 hours per week initially, with the opportunity for this to gradually increase over time.
We're looking for a kind, reliable and enthusiastic Personal Assistant / Support Worker to support our lovely, friendly 19-year-old daughter. She loves getting out and about and enjoys animals, zoos, theme parks, arts and crafts, swimming, going to the gym and trying new activities. We're looking for someone who can share these experiences with her, help her grow in confidence and support her on her journey towards greater independence. The role will involve enjoying fun days out at zoos, theme parks and other attractions, getting creative together with arts and crafts, supporting her at the gym and swimming, and encouraging her to develop greater independence with everyday tasks. You'll also help her build confidence when out in the community and support her to take part in activities she enjoys. A full driving licence and access to your own car are essential, as you will need to drive her safely to activities and days out. The hours are flexible, with ad hoc support during term time with some weekend work. During school holidays, we anticipate around 10 hours per week initially, with the opportunity for this to gradually increase over time. We're looking for someone who is friendly, upbeat, patient and supportive, and who is happy to get involved in community-based activities. You should be able to encourage independence in a positive and gentle way. Previous experience working with young people or people with additional needs would be helpful, but it is not essential. What matters most is that you are caring, reliable, enthusiastic and enjoy helping someone get the most out of life.
