Full Job Description
The individual requiring support has various health conditions including fibromyalgia, is severely sight impaired, epilepsy, anxiety and depression because of this to this they often experience a fluctuation in moods. The PA would need to be understanding, patient and be able to provide gentle encouragement and be able to help support with setting goals to reach their long term aims.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The role involves providing consistent emotional support and companionship, helping to build a trusting and positive relationship. You will spend meaningful time together, offering encouragement, active listening, and reassurance to support emotional wellbeing and confidence.
The individual requiring support has recently had a deep clean, now this has been completed you will support with keeping on top of household tasks. This will include cleaning and maintaining a comfortable and safe living environment. This support will be provided in a person-centred way, encouraging independence and involvement wherever possible. You will also support the development of social and people skills through shared activities, conversation, and gentle guidance. The role will also include supporting with cooking and meal preparation.
The individual requiring support is agoraphobic The long term goal of support is to help the individual to get out into the community and take part in activities they enjoy. This includes spending time outdoors, enjoying nature, gardening together, and attending activities such as swimming, promoting both physical and mental wellbeing. The role will also include supporting with cooking and meal preparation.
The individual requiring support would like to start the support slow whilst they are building a relationship and rapport with the PA.
There is 1 cat and 3 Guinea pigs within the home. Some support is needed with pets. Supporting with feeding and cleaning their cages.
Hobbies and Interests:
The individual requiring support has a strong love for animals, particularly cats, birds, guinea pigs, and horses. They enjoy being around animals and find them engaging and comforting. In addition, they have a interest in creative hobbies, including learning how to play the guitar and exploring photography. They are also an avid Disney fan and love everything Disney, with a particular fondness for Lilo & Stitch.
5 hours per week at £13.50 per hour for an employed PA.
