The role will involve developing and co-ordinating programmes, monitoring and assessing student progress, providing personal tutoring and pastoral support, and contributing to curriculum development and continuous improvement. You may also take on responsibilities such as course leadership, internal verification and team leadership, working collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to support positive student outcomes.
You will contribute to the wider student experience through course team activities, work placement monitoring, open days, recruitment events and external moderation. Maintaining accurate student records, supporting safeguarding responsibilities and ensuring compliance with University policies and procedures will also be key aspects of the role.
Through ongoing professional development and effective collaboration with colleagues, students, employers and external agencies, you will help maintain high standards of teaching, learning and quality assurance across the University.

You will have experience of delivering teaching or training to learners aged 16 and above, with the ability to engage and support learners to achieve positive outcomes and maintain high standards of provision.
You will have a sound understanding of the qualifications, developments and progression opportunities relevant to your subject area, alongside an awareness of current developments in education and training. Strong communication, organisation and time management skills will be essential, as will the ability to work independently, contribute effectively within a team and take on leadership responsibilities where required.
You will demonstrate a commitment to equality, diversity and widening participation, with an understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and the importance of promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. A commitment to ongoing professional development and to the University of Derby Buxton's values and behaviours is also important.
You will be flexible in your approach, with a willingness to travel and work across the University of Derby Buxton and external sites as required. You will also be required to meet the relevant pre-employment safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS check with children's barred list information and a Prohibited from Teaching check.
