Full Job Description
As the VOD & FAST Operations Manager, you will be a key member of our FAST (Free Ad Supported Streaming channels) team, providing technical expertise and supporting the accuracy and integrity of the delivery of our FAST channels. In this role, you will also support History Hit's operations in the syndication of the original content made for the platform, as well as support wider AVOD deliveries to external platforms.,
- Operational and delivery management of 3rd party tech partners that LDS use for FAST, VOD and OTT.
- Leading on operational projects including new FAST channel deliveries, new FAST platform deliveries, FAST tech partner migration, integration and evaluation of new potential best of breed technology.
- Troubleshooting technical issues relating to the FAST channel outputs as well as liaising with our partners and platforms to resolve these.
- Monitoring and troubleshooting FAST channel feeds delivery to multiple platforms.
- Understanding the interfaces between rights management and scheduling and reviewing and optimising these processes.
- Liaising with the Content Operations and other LDS departments to ensure timely delivery of content and accuracy of information flow - or with History Hit and Network Operations to ensure correct assets are delivered to the appropriate spec.
- Managing metadata, ancillary material and promotional materials to tech platforms and to our FAST, History Hit and OTT platforms.
- Developing and taking responsibility for operational KPI's for the FAST team.
- Leading and implementing both innovation and change in working practices within the team in line with wider departmental directives.
- Taking ownership of feedback, testing current and new feature requests between the Network and in-house development and products teams. Be the voice in prioritising the needs of the FAST team!
- Spearheading deployment of team projects and automation of workflows - and making use of project management tools such as Asana to support this.
- Managing a team of 4, responsible for key FAST workflows to do with operations, compliance and design.
- Playing a key role in interfacing with other departments within Little Dot Studios as well as the strategic development of the team.
- Facilitating the sharing of learnings, case studies and best practices across the team and other departments
- Working with key stakeholders across the business, and act as the department's day to day contact point for FAST and OTT operational queries.
The ideal candidate is an experienced digital professional with proven FAST channel operational experience, project management skills, technical expertise and a good understanding of media management and implementation efficiency. You will be tasked with ensuring that all of the FAST's team processes run smoothly and look to implement operational synergies across the FAST team and wider verticals., Skills matter, experience is useful, attitude is everything. - Experience of digital operations management and FAST Channel technology and operations and delivery;
- Knowledge of CTV and FAST advertising technologies (i.e. SSAI, ad server processes), YouTube's CMS/Creator Studio, and Facebook Business Manager is extremely desirable;
- Ability to manage and track resources across the department and anticipate pinch points before major issues occur;
- Experience planning, scheduling, and reviewing workload/manpower to make sure work is completed in a timely fashion;
- Exceptional time & project management skills with the ability to prioritise & delegate independently;
- Confident using and customising project management tools such as Asana etc.;
- Some experience in the management of FAST playout/ tech delivery partners is preferred.
