Warwickshire has a truly exceptional Fostering and Kinship service and we are proud of the difference we make every day. Working countywide, and based at Myton Park, Warwick, this role sits within our Kinship Team, with oversight and supervision from our Duty Coordinator. As a Family Support Worker, you will work across the whole fostering service with a specialism in supporting our Foster Carers Schemes. The fostering service recruits, assesses, supervises and supports foster carers - offering outstanding training, guidance and wrap-around support throughout their journey. We work closely with Fostering Network and have embedded psychologists within our service who provide consultation and support to our Social Workers, Family Support Workers and, vitally, our foster carers. Now is an exciting time to be part of our team as Warwickshire begins to embed our Families First teams who support the young people in our County. Our approach is about locality working, multi disciplinary and multi agency teams that support the whole family. Building strong partnerships with local services, Health, Police and Education., We are recruiting for the role of Family Support Worker, in our fostering service working across Warwickshire County. This role is a full-time permanent role working within an experienced, dedicated, passionate supportive team of Family Support Workers. You will be responsible for:

  • Providing targeted, relationship-based support to prospective and approved foster carers through direct work by using creative and flexible approaches
  • You will work therapeutically and apply trauma-informed approaches to support foster carers care for children
  • You will be involved in event planning/delivery and support the wider service in delivering foster carer training
  • You will plan and facilitate spaces for foster cares to meet and share learning and connection
  • You will have statutory responsibilities including private fostering visits and attending multi-agency meetings, as part of a team around the child, We recommend submitting your application as soon as possible.     This is a countywide role you will need experience in having worked in a health and or social care setting. You need to be flexible, hold a full driving license, and access to your own vehicle. Occasional evening or out-of-hours working may be required to meet service demands.
