Family Support Worker - Fostering

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Full-Time Family Support Worker withinShropshire Council Fostering Service, based in Shrewsbury.The role provides the opportunity to work with Foster Carers and colleagues acrossChildrens Service. You will support the shared vision for children to receive the bestcare and for Shropshire Councils Fostering Families to be provided the best support.The successful candidate will work across the fostering service delivering targetedsupport services for prospective carers, approved carers, children and young people.You will support carers at varying stages of their fostering journey including duringtheir assessment and post approval, enabling carers to support children with safe,stable and nurturing home environments.You will provide 1-1 and group work support. You will complete direct work withchildren, exploring their experiences, wishes and feelings. You will measure theimpact of targeted support offered to all children living with Shropshire Foster Carers.The role will involve supporting developments within your team and across service. Thiswill involve your contribution to scheduled fostering events.The role will also involve working with families to support stability and positive outcomesfor children. You will be ensuring all children are safeguarded in our care.

We are looking for family support workers who have enthusiasm, positivity, flexibility,the ability to work to work restoratively and therapeutically with fostering families tosupport positive outcomes for children., We are looking for a practitioner with experience of working with children and familieswho is enthusiastic, motivated, positive and can work collaboratively with practitioners,Foster Carers and their support network to achieve positive outcomes for vulnerablechildren.
