Full Job Description

As a Family Support Worker within Shropshire's Early Help and Support Team(EHAST), you will work directly with children, young people and their families toprovide quick, practical support at the earliest opportunity, with a "how can we help?"approach. This is a fast-paced and rewarding role where no two days are the same.You will complete home visits, communicate with other professionals and buildpositive relationships with the aim of helping families identify solutions, and connectthem with the right services to prevent needs from escalating. In EHAST we workacross the whole of Shropshire. Working as part of a supportive and collaborativeteam, you will play a vital role in helping families achieve positive outcomes at theearliest opportunity.

You will have experience of working with children, young people, parents and carers,together with a commitment to improving outcomes for children and families. You willbe a confident communicator with strong verbal and written skills, able to build positive, relationships whilst maintaining professional boundaries. The role requires goodorganisational and IT skills, accurate record keeping, the ability to maintainconfidentiality, and a flexible approach to working with families and partner agencies.A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is essential.As this role involves visiting children, young people and families across Shropshire, adriving licence and access to a vehicle are essential to ensure timely support can beprovided where it is needed.Shropshire are entering a period of transformation through Families First and arelooking for a flexible and resilient individual(s) who thrive in a changing environment.We are committed to being an inclusive employer and welcome conversations aboutreasonable adjustments or alternative arrangements that would enable candidateswith disabilities to meet the requirements of the role.
