Targeted Early Help is recruiting to a Family Support Worker post in South Shropshire,to be based in the Ludlow Hub Locality.The role of the Family Support Worker is to support families at all stages, frompregnancy through to families with older teenagers, and could include young peopleup to 25 with an additional need or disability.The successful candidate will work directly with children, young people and theirfamilies to promote, strengthen and develop the potential of parents/carers and theirchildren to manage the challenges they face. This will include direct work throughcentre-based interventions, Community engagement and group work, school andhome visits as well as requesting support from more specialist services whereneeded. They will manage a caseload and take the role of Lead Professional,assessing the needs of family and creating and co-ordinating a multi-agency FamilyPlan of support to ensure that families, some with complex needs, get the right serviceat the right time

The role is varied and challenging, the successful candidate will be able todemonstrate previous experience of working with families and young people, requiringwide ranging additional support and be able to appreciate the challenges families andyoung people can face. Candidates with experience of working with teenagers will beparticularly welcome.In addition, the successful candidate will be experienced in multi-agency working,have resilience and good judgement, excellent communication and problems solvingskills and be adept at using IT to manage their casework.
