Full Job Description

We are working closely with local authority in Slough to assist with the appointment of a Family Support Assistant, on a 2-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration., The Family Support Assistant plays a key role in supporting children, young people, and their families to improve educational outcomes, wellbeing, and access to services. Working within Children's Services and Family Hub settings, the post holder provides practical support, guidance, and early intervention services to families, helping them overcome barriers to learning, development, attendance, and engagement., Provide advice, guidance, and practical support to children, young people, parents, and carers accessing Family Hub and Children's Services provision.
Build positive and supportive relationships with families to identify needs and promote engagement with education and support services.
Plan, organise, and facilitate educational, developmental, and parenting support sessions for children, young people, and families.
Support integrated service delivery and promote information sharing in accordance with safeguarding and data protection requirements.

NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Early Years, Education, Childcare, Family Support, Children's Services, or a related field.
Relevant qualification supporting work with children, young people, or families.
Essentials:

Experience working with children, young people, parents, or families in either a paid or voluntary capacity.
Experience delivering engaging educational, developmental, or recreational activities.
Experience supporting vulnerable children and families.
Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate learning activities.
Understanding of factors affecting children's educational attainment, wellbeing, and life opportunities.
