We are currently recruiting for a Family Solicitor. The role will involve managing a busy and varied private family caseload, so we are looking for someone organised and efficient with a strong sense of commercial acumen, preferably 5-10 years PQE (however we welcome applications from all qualification levels). Ideally the candidate would have 5-10 years plus experience in the fields of private paying work; divorce and separation, related finance work and private paying child arrangements matters. Key Tasks



  • Running and assisting with a caseload of client matters.

  • Dealing with new client enquiries.

  • Handling matters at all stages, from taking initial instructions through to archiving, in accordance with office and accounts procedures.

  • Taking instructions from clients and advising accordingly.

  • Instructing counsel or other experts where appropriate.

  • Representing clients at Court (including advocacy) as appropriate.

  • Obtaining and preparing file documentation.

  • Cost drafting as appropriate.

  • Billing files and obtaining monies due to the firm from clients and other parties.


Key Skills - Essential



  • Professional and friendly client care.

  • Ability to work accurately in accordance with procedures and processes.

  • Ability to deal with technical details and express solutions to complex legal problems in a concise and client-friendly way.

  • Good spoken and written communication skills to deal with clients and other parties face to face, by telephone, and in producing legal documents.

  • Confident IT skills.

  • Ability to learn quickly.

  • Ability to organise and prioritise work under supervision to meet clients' expectations and deadlines.

  • Ability to work under pressure.

  • Ability to work on own initiative and within a team.


Knowledge

Qualification


Current Practising Certificate or equivalent


Experience


5-10 years PQE. However, we can be flexible on this for the right candidate.
